Charlotte, NC, 11 December 2015 – Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE: SEE) today announced that its contributions to support the American Red Cross's disaster response work have been recognised by the organisation through its inclusion in their Disaster Responder Programme. Members of the American Red Cross Disaster Responder Programme pledge donations on an ongoing basis, in advance of major disasters, to help the Red Cross ensure an immediate response able to meet the needs of those affected by disasters of all sizes at no cost and regardless of income.

“Ongoing financial support from Disaster Responder Programme members, such as Sealed Air, helps to create a reliable funding base for disaster relief services, providing food, shelter, emotional support and other essential assistance,” said Don Herring, Red Cross chief development officer. “Money donated by the public and Disaster Responder members is essential to our ability to assist disaster survivors and support the first responders and volunteers who work tirelessly at the scene of a disaster. We are so very grateful to Sealed Air and its employees for their ongoing and very generous support.”

Sealed Air is proud to have a long history of supporting the American Red Cross with both monetary donations for specific disasters, general relief funding and specific materials that can be used by disaster victims.  Recently, the Company donated $100,000 cash to the American Red Cross, earmarked for South Carolina flood aid. Additionally, in response to the flooding in South Carolina, the Company donated and delivered a lorry-load of recycled heavy duty plastic film for use as shelter and construction tarps and 2,500 disaster response comfort kits that were packed by employees at Sealed Air’s (ground-breaking) new corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina in June.

“Our ongoing support and partnership with the American Red Cross is evidence of the commitment we have to the communities in which we operate,” said James Whaley, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Sustainability for Sealed Air.  “We are honoured to be recognised by the Red Cross and will continue to support their disaster relief efforts around the world. As a global company with employees and operations in 63 countries, it is our responsibility to help those affected by disasters and we are proud to continue this kind of support.”
